Day 29. Las Vegas. Friday 17th January

We booked our Las Vegas accommodation, 6 months ago, for mid-week, when there were not too many conventions or expos going on and therefore the prices for the rooms are heaps cheaper. (Surprisingly there was some sort of 'Gun Nut' expo on for a couple of days). Our Spa Suite room only cost $145 per night and the kids room was $165 p/n (no way you'd get rooms like that for those prices in Perth). Christine and Andrew wanted to go to a Cirque Du Soleil show in Vegas and there are several to choose from. We decided on Zumanity, a risque and sensual version of the acrobatic delight, but there are no shows on Wednesday or Thursday night. Originally we were going to leave LV on Friday and find somewhere along the road to LA to stop the night because we weren't booked into Disneyland till Saturday. Because we couldn't get into a show on the nights we had booked at LV we decided to spend the extra night here instead. After finding out that our 2 rooms would cost us $600 for the extra night we made a booking at a nearby hotel 'off the Strip' for $138 including breakfast. We checked out of New York at 11am and packed the car with all the bags, turned around and walked back inside. The kids wanted to have a closer look at some of the shops and after that we walked back down the Strip to be hassled some more. There were more tourists around and therefore more 'pushers'. After a while Christine and the kids stopped for some lunch while Andrew continued on with the video camera to get some vision of some exciting  freaks & showgirls building & fountains. We met up together at 2.30 and drove the 1 km to our new home for the night. Christine did some much needed washing while the Andrew hit the gym and pool, Chelsea rested and read a book and the boys practiced  their new magic tricks. At about 6pm Christine and Andrew drove back to New York to see Zumanity and have some dinner (we left the kids with microwave meals and cable tv). The show was brilliant and the performers very fit and easy on the eyes. Just imagine any Cirque Du Soleil done in and out of sexy lingerie. There was acrobatics, dancing, singing and audience participation. Unfortunately this time Andrew wasn't chosen to help out. After a yummy Italian dinner on the streets of New York (with no exhaust fumes or car horns, just 1 horn cigarette smoke smell) we returned to our squishy hotel room where we went back to sharing our beds with the kids :(
Only one more sleep to Disneyland!!!

The $145 p/n Spa Suite. Lucky for the strategically placed spa bath!

Greenwich Village, New York

Walking the quiet streets of New York. Only had this one idiot spoil the photo.

Enjoying a coffee.
